Privacy Policy

How Calvary Church collects, uses and protects your personal information, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Last updated 10 October 2026.

Who we are

Calvary Church, 91 Main Road, Solheim, Johannesburg, is the responsible party for personal information collected through calvarychurch.co.za. Our Information Officer is Ashlin, reachable at ashlin@calvarychurch.co.za.

What we collect

We only collect what you choose to send us through our forms:

  • Visit, Next Steps, Dream Team and Bible School forms: your name, email address, phone number where needed, the options you select and any message you write.
  • Prayer request form: your name, contact details if you give them, and your prayer request.
  • Website usage data: through Google Analytics we collect anonymised statistics such as pages viewed, device type and approximate location. See our Cookie Policy.

Why we collect it

  • To respond to your enquiry, registration or prayer request.
  • To follow up on your next steps or serving interest.
  • To understand how the website is used so we can improve it.

We do not sell your information and we do not use it for unrelated marketing.

Who sees it

Form submissions are emailed to the Calvary Church team. Our website host and email provider process information on our behalf. Google Analytics is operated by Google. We do not share your details with anyone else unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only as long as needed for the purpose you gave it. Enquiries and registrations are deleted once handled and no longer needed. Prayer requests are kept only as long as needed to pray and follow up.

How we protect it

The site runs over HTTPS and access to form submissions is limited to authorised Calvary Church team members.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask us to confirm what information we hold about you, to correct or delete it, or to stop processing it. Email ashlin@calvarychurch.co.za and we will respond promptly. If you are unhappy with our response you may complain to the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.

Children

Our forms are intended for adults. Parents and guardians should submit information on behalf of children.

Changes

We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do.
