Next Gen
Youth Ministry

Next Gen is the youth ministry of Calvary Church, created for young people aged 12 to 19. Every Friday night, we come together for a time of fun, friendship, and faith. It’s a space where teens can be real, build community, and grow in life and in God. From learning about peer pressure and bullying to discovering purpose, leadership, and life skills—we equip the next generation to live boldly with Jesus at the center of it all.

Life Groups

At Calvary Church, we believe life is better together. Life Groups are where real community happens—where we live life in circles, not just rows. It’s more than a meeting; it’s about doing life side by side, growing in faith, building lasting friendships, and sharing real conversations. Whether you’re a student, a young family, or anywhere in between, there’s a group for you. Calvary Kids

Calvary Kids is rooted on the promises of Genesis 15:5 through Christ-centered learning, fun, community and leadership. Calvary Kids will become the shinning lights that people see in the midst of darkness.

Gracious Daughters

Gracious Daughters is a gathering of women from all walks of life who come together a few times a year to worship, connect, and grow in faith. It’s a space where community is built, hearts are encouraged, and the presence of Jesus Christ is our focus. Through worship, prayer, and authentic conversation, we seek to become women of grace, strength, and purpose—reflecting His love in our everyday lives.

Chains to Change

We do prison ministry because we believe no one is beyond the reach of God’s love and redemption. Jesus calls us to remember and serve those in prison (Matthew 25:36), and through this ministry, we bring hope, healing, and the message of salvation to those who often feel forgotten. It’s about restoring dignity, offering second chances, and reminding every person—no matter their past—that they are seen, valued, and loved by God

Sons of Thunder

Where the Men of the House Gather to Discover a Brotherhood, Find Support, and Stir Up the Gifts God Has Placed Within Them. This is a place where men are strengthened, sharpened, and called into purpose—a community that empowers husbands, fathers, and leaders to rise in faith and walk boldly in their God-given calling.

We are thrilled to be stepping into a new season

Calvary Church Johannesburg was born in 2023—in the living room of our pastor, with just four people gathered together in worship and prayer. What started small quickly grew as God began to move in powerful ways. Within a few months, their living room couldn’t hold them anymore, and they transitioned to a small space in Edenvale.
